Camagüey, September 16 – The Pepito Tey Semi-boarding School, in the Julio Antonio Mella People's Council, received the Neighborhood Award in the school category during the 65th anniversary celebration of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR, for its acronym in Spanish).
The presentation ceremony took place during the school's morning meeting, with provincial CDR leaders, parents, teachers, and students in attendance.
The school's principal, Yunaika Yara Francis Leiva, was responsible for accepting the award at an event where the pioneers were the main protagonists.
The Neighborhood Award recognizes individuals, families, and groups who, through their daily work, make an outstanding contribution to the organization's work and reflect the values ??of community unity.
Pepito Tey Semi-Boarding School has been recognized for its notable academic, athletic, and community achievements. These include the outstanding results of its students in competitions, the strong integration between school, family, and community, as well as the recognition obtained in rhythmic gymnastics for early childhood and aerobics in the upper grades.
The school has also won medals in baseball matches, has actively participated in the collection of raw materials, and has developed an extensive program of activities in various venues. These merits reflect the school's commitment to the comprehensive education of its students.
